Why this site exists

“How do I help my kid with reading?”

This is the question I hear most from parents.
Not maths. Not writing. Reading.

When the conversation turns to strategies, levels, or what to do next, it often starts to feel overwhelming.

It’s not a lack of care.
It’s a lack of clarity.

The Reading Way exists to close that gap.

I’m James. I’m a parent and a teacher.

I’ve worked with children learning to read for many years, in classrooms and at home. Over time, patterns become clear.

Confidence grows when children revisit the same text, practise without pressure, and think more deeply with simple prompts.

Being a parent sharpened that understanding. What I see most often is not a lack of effort, but uncertainty about what truly helps.

This site takes what works and shapes it for real life at home.
